ABOUT

Dor Chadash LA - Welcome Home!

If you are a young Jewish professional living in Southern California - Israeli, American and anything in between - and if you share our love and passion for Israel, you belong with Dor Chadash (New Generation)!

Originally founded in October 2003, Dor Chadash New York has created over 200 successful Jewish and Israeli-related events, attended by more than 30,000 participants in New York City.

Dor Chadash  Los Angeles, an expansion of Dor Chadash NY in partnership with the Israeli Leadership Council (ILC), was established in 2009 to serve the Southern California Jewish community in a similar way. Dor Chadash LA has learned that there is a real need among Jewish American, American-Israeli hybrids, and Israeli professionals, ages 25-45, to connect with Israel in an authentic way.

From providing thought-provoking discussions with prominent Israeli speakers, to showcasing the best of Israeli cultural offerings, dancing to Israeli pop music on Jewish holidays, business-oriented networking events, and meaningful volunteer opportunities, Dor Chadash LA has something for everyone who wants to get infused with contemporary Israel.

Who attends Dor Chadash events?

Individuals who are passionate about Israel's culture, history and contemporary life. You don't have to speak Hebrew to join our group, though a large percentage of us do. We were born in the United States, Israel and other countries. The majority of us have lived in Israel at some point and travel often to visit family members who live there. Most of us are between 25 and 45 years of age and we all have Israel in our hearts.

Dor Chadash New York

Dor Chadash NY is a dynamic community, empowering a strong network of Israeli and American Jews, to create meaningful connections with Israel through cutting edge programs and engaging events focused on Israeli culture, heritage and current events. Dor Chadash NY develops social bonds with members who are equally passionate about Israel and interested in becoming actively involved in the Jewish community in New York City.

Since its establishment in 2003, Dor Chadash NY has catered to New York's growing community of Israelis and American Jews, aiming to bridge cultural gaps and unite the two groups as one, with nearly 200 different programs. Dor Chadash NY discovered an incredible need among young Jewish professionals in New York to connect with Israel in an authentic way; and, central to the mission volunteers carry out extremely innovative Israel-related programs that appeal to a diverse and sophisticated group of Israeli and American Jews.

At the outset, the organization had three primary goals: to embark upon social action missions, engage both young families and young singles who share a passion for Israel and then replicate this successful model elsewhere in the country. Dor Chadash NY leaders are confident that their New York model will repeat its success in Los Angeles, and in many other American cities to follow.

Israeli Leadership Council (ILC)

The ILC's mission is to fortify and enhance a productive and continuous relationship between American-Israelis and the State of Israel through community empowerment, activism, and philanthropy.

ILC strives for the unification of a strong, active and philanthropic American-Israelis community through various activities aimed at, among others, the integration of the Israeli-American community as part of an inseparable aspect of the identity of the Jewish Community.

One of ILC's main goals is to build a strong Israeli-American young leadership that has a significant impact within the Israel and American Jewish community.

In 2008, the ILC approached Dor Chadash as Dor Chadash was finalizing its East Coast expansion plans. The ILC and Dor Chadash jointly recognized that the two organizations had much to offer each other and would be excellent partners in bringing Dor Chadash to Los Angeles and working together for years to come.

As a partner of DC-LA, the ILC is dedicated to the success of this critical venture. ILC is DC-LA's sponsor, providing it with financial and organizational support that create the platform for Israeli and American Jewish Young Professional to determine and shape their future as well as the the future of the LA Jewish community in general.
